That is the number of reported deaths from collar accidents in a single year in the US. Hard to believe, I know. Now try and imagine how many went unreported. It is thought to be a much higher number. We all love our pets and want them to be safe but so many people are not aware of this problem. I have been rescuing dogs for over 10 years now and have begged people to stop leaving collars on unattended dogs. Nothing we say seemed to help, so many of our adopters and even some of our foster parents continue to leave collars on around the clock. My own son found out the hard way but thankfully he was home when the disaster occurred. He stepped out of the room for a few minutes and heard his two Shepherds thrashing about. He ran to find Leos mouth stuck under Coopers collar. Both dogs were panicked and wouldn’t stop thrashing, Luckily he was home and able to use the quick release buckle to disconnect them. This would have ended as yet another statistic had he not been home. This is what brought Leash of Love to fruition.

The Cleash is made up of a six foot nylon neoprene padded handled leash with reflective stitching for improved nighttime visibility that is permanently attached to the martingale collar which when fitted correctly is a slip proof collar, much safer than traditional collars and even harnesses. Included is a breakaway collar that is thin, comfortable and can safely be worn at all times, even when alone because it will break away if they get caught on anything.. We went one step further and included an apple air tag holder so you can track your dog if they would ever get lost.
